Access resources: Facilities that meet the requirements of all customers, Wheelchair users, or anyone requiring step-free access, can enter using the street level door by Teatro Café, along the side of our building on Great Western Road. This leads directly into the auditorium where there is a range of options for seats with space for your wheelchair or extra legroom. Just ask a member of staff at the Box Office and we’ll be happy to open these access doors for you. An accessible toilet can also be found in the auditorium, near the exit, behind the red curtains. Balcony, does not currently have any accessible seats for wheelchair users or those with mobility issues as it requires climbing several stairs. Inclusion of accessibility to our balcony is in the Curzon’s long term restoration plans. Audio Description, Audio assistance is available for the majority of films we show here at the Curzon, dependent on availability from the film’s distributor. We have headphones which can provide either boosted sound levels, or an audio description of what is happening on screen. If you would like to know more just ask a member of staff when you come in or give the box office a ring on 01275 871000/email info@curzon.org.uk Subtitled screenings, Every Wednesday afternoon we offer subtitled screenings of the latest releases (where available) for people with impaired hearing. Relaxed Screenings, Our relaxed screenings create a sensory friendly and inclusive environment for those on the autism/sensory spectrum, people living with dementia and anyone who would benefit from a relaxed cinema experience. The lights are left on low throughout the screening, the sound is at a lower volume, there are no adverts/trailers or entry music prior to the film. Customers have freedom to move around the auditorium if necessary and there is a quiet area for people to relax in our Oak Room. We also provide extra signage in the cinema to make the building easier to navigate.
Designated staff for disability support and the chronically ill community: Staff all Dementia Friendly trained.
Additional support: *Sensory-friendly sets are available to borrow for any of our screenings: these include a pair of ear defenders and a sensory twiddle-muff. Just ask for one at the front desk and our staff will be happy to help.
